 Core Team Meeting Minutes

Bill Austin, Dan Surber, Tom Kennedy, Tom Rarick, Joe Rayes, Barbara Falls

 Meeting Details:

Charter Application

Effort to complete application is minimal.  Major effort will be to verify membership list, hold officer elections, and ratify bylaws.  That information will be attached to the application.

Elections

Shortly after membership list is verified by INCOSE central, an email campaign will be launched to elect officers and ratify bylaws.

The Election Advisory Board (Suzanne Short, Greg Bresnehan, Bill Schindel) plan to submit a nomination proposal to elect the existing interim officers. 

·        Bill Austin will follow up with the EAB on the nomination proposal.

Membership Status

Dan Surber provided the following statistics:

19 members in good standing and affiliated

23 applying or transferring affiliation

 6 in question as to membership status

Dan has submitted to INOSE central a request to verify the above membership numbers, but has not received a response.

Dan suggests pursuing academic institution chapter membership after being chartered.

After our chapter is chartered, we have an offer from Dr. Klod Kokini, Assistant Dean, Schools of Engineering, Purdue U.  to make a presentation at Purdue.

·        Barb Falls to follow up with Shirley Bishop for membership status.

Programs

June 17 – 21 is identified as the target week for the next round of chapter meetings.   Dan Surber has volunteered to be the program speaker, topic for interactive discussion – what is SE, who does SE?   Dan and the programs chairs plan to meet and discuss in depth. 

June chapter meetings program and speaker was voted on and approved unanimously.

Regional coordinators for the June meetings are:

Tom Rarick – Chicago

Dan Surber – Indianapolis

Barb Falls – Terre Haute.

Communications Status

Lauren Toffolo’s resignation from the Communications group was acknowledged.  Joe Rayes was nominated and accepted to Communications Co-Chair

Communications Proposals

            Joe Rayes made the following proposals:

            Newsletter published quarterly to membership

            SIG Status Report published in newsletter

            Student involvement in obtaining member bio information for posting on the web site.

·        Joe Rayes is to draft a communications white paper and forward to Tom Kennedy for review. 

Web Site

Joe Rayes, webmaster, provided web site details:

Web site updates occur weekly on Friday afternoon

Webmaster and Info email addresses accessed from our site – email is currently received by Joe Rayes

Once chapter is chartered, there are additional email addresses available.

150Mb of space is available for our web site content.

·        Joe Rayes will update slides posted on website for Tom Rarick.

IEEE Presentation

Dan Surber will be making an interactive presentation to the CIS-IEEE group at the University Place Conference Center of IUPUI on Thursday, April 25.  Dinner buffet begins at 6 and presentation will begin at 7pm

ITEC Expo Presentation

Our chapter is participating in the ITEC Expo, June 6-7, 2002.  We will be hosting on June 6, 2:30 – 4:00pm, a panel discussion with a topic to be determined.  Panel consists of Jeff Harper, Bill Schindel, and possibly one other individual who can relate well with IT folks.
