NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT

May 8, 2002

To the Members of the INCOSE Crossroads of America Chapter:

The chapter appears to be off to a great start, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the interim officers and other core team members and an enthusiastic group of program attendees to date—including your own interest and participation. The core team has reported official membership in our chapter has passed fifty—twice the INCOSE minimum for official chapter status!

Nomination of Elected Officers

The Advisory Board for our chapter has agreed to serve as a Nominating Committee, to provide this report to the chapter membership, recommending official election of those currently serving in the chapter’s elected offices. The members of our chapter’s Advisory Board are listed below.

Within the overall leadership team, the elected offices are President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. The Nominating Committee recommends election by the membership, and nominates for that election, the currently serving group of acting officers:

President: Bill Austin, Systems Engineering Industry Practice Executive, ICTT  (Nashville, IN)

Vice-President: Tom Rarick, Systems Engineering Manager, Tellabs (Lisle, IL)

Secretary-Treasurer: Barbara Falls, Systems Engineering Project Manager, ICTT, (Terre Haute, IN)

These dedicated individuals have already spent many hours serving our chapter in these roles for approximately six months of its start-up activities and programs, and the Nominating Committee recommends that the membership officially elect them to the positions at the time of the next scheduled election.

Recognition of Additional Chapter Leadership

The Advisory Board additionally wants the chapter membership to be aware of the efforts and vital contributions that are being made by the larger chapter leadership team. Although the formal positions held by these individuals are not elected positions, the dedicated efforts and professional contributions have been essential to our chapter’s current and future progress. Members should also be aware that the chapter is always seeking additional volunteers who are interested in advancing the Systems Engineering Community across our chapter’s operating region—if you would like to help lead a current or new Special Interest Group, or suggest additional chapter programs or services, the leadership team would like to hear from you. Your can contact them directly or through the chapter web site at www.incose-coa.org
